CRYOGENIC TREATMENT
REDUCING RESIDUAL STRESS IN GUITAR HARDWARE:
The cryo treatment causes a reduction of residual stresses in the component: Through deep-freezing temperatures (down to -196°C), a complete "molecular" conversion of the partly heterogeneous microstructure in the component to fully homogeneous, and thus more uniform lattice structure in the alloys, is achieved. The vibration properties are harmonized and bad overtones are minimized.
RESULT:
Cryo-Tuning results in an optimized sound and can have a positive influence on some properties of an instrument:
• a balanced sound
• an improved response
• a more harmonious sound development
• better vibration properties / sustain
• an improved playing feel
